National Honor Society

Students in good academic standing should meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for NHS: (1) high academic standing; (2) service to the community; (3) scholarship; (4) leadership; and (5) character. New members are inducted in the first semester of each academic year. The selection process is carried out by Faculty Council, as outlined in the NHS Bylaws. NHS students play an active role in community service projects throughout the school year.

Some of the service projects that NHS undertakes include working with elementary students to educate them on fire safety, organizing Café Oasis, the annual showcase for talent at ASD as a fundraiser for a selected charitable organization, and running annual food drives.
