
Swimming
Championships will take place on the fourth weekend in November ( i.e., the weekend which contains a Thursday and Friday).

Rule Exceptions
a.
Swimming is capped at five schools with a maximum of twenty four
swimmers/school - Varsity Boys max. six, Varsity Girls max. six, JV
Boys max six, JV Girls max. six. The minimum per school for
participation credit will be twelve.
b. The championships will be for an overall team award.
c. The swimmers will compete in the following categories -Girls and Boys Under Junior Varsity; Girls and Boys Under Varsity.
d. The following events will be contested:

e. Swimmers may compete in a maximum of nine individual events and three relay events.
f.
Each school is allowed to enter up to three competitors per individual
event, with the exception of the 200s. A total of two swimmers per
school may be entered.
g. Each school may enter one relay team per event.
h. Junior varsity swimmers may compete at the varsity level.
i. No swimmer may compete in both age groups.
HeatsCoaches
will seed their swimmers one to three, with one being their strongest
swimmer. Preliminary heat times will be used to determine lanes and
heats for the finals.
ScoringThe scoring system of
individual events will recognize the first six swimmers. Points will be
awarded as follows: First Place - seven points; Second Place - five
points; Third Place - four points; Fourth Place - three points; Fifth
Place - two points; Sixth Place - one point.
The scoring system
for relays will be as follows: First Place - fourteen points; Second
Place - ten points; Third Place - eight points. Scoring may require
modification when the host school has a five lane pool.
Awards1st,
2nd and 3rd place banners will be awarded in each competing group (JV
Girls, JV Boys, Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys). In addition 1st, 2nd and
3rd place banners will be awarded to the overall Junior Varsity and
Varsity winners. Ribbons will be given to individual athletes placing
in the top six.
