Music @ ASD
Students at ASD have several opportunities to further develop their musical skills and perform for a wide array of audiences. From 6th grade all the way up to 8th, students at ASD have the opportunity to grow into young musicians.
6th Grade Music
Every 6th grader at ASD is required to take one music class. Students have two options to choose from. Band or Choir. Each student will be given the opportunity to make a selection during their 5th grade year or before arriving at ASD.

Beginning Band
If a student chooses to study an instrument for their 6th music choice, then he/she can pick from the following instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, or Percussion. Musicians in the 6th Grade Band will do two performances throughout the year showcasing their progress in class.
Boys Choir/Girl's Choir
If a student elects to sing in the choir instead, he/she will be placed in the Boy's Choir or Girl's Choir. There they will learn songs of varied genres and basic vocal technique. The students will perform several times a year in addition to the two concerts they will present showcasing their progress. In past years, students have sung for The Qatar Model United Nations Opening Ceremony and ASD International Week Opening Ceremonies.
